A new look

We are having some issues with our old website theme or “look.” Please bear with us as we experiment with some new ones.

E47 – Memorize Scripture better

Towards better scripture memory.  In this podcast we will talk about a simple system for sustainable scripture memory. Then we will talk about a neuro-scientific method that helps you commit scripture to memory faster and better.

For the system you will need some some kind of card.  I use the ones from the Navigators. You can buy them on Amazon or from

Here is a sample of the neuro-scientific method explained in the podcast. This example would be for memorizing Romans 14:1-4.

“Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.  One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.  The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.  Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.”

To help memorize this I would write out the road map letters like this.

“A t o w f i w, w q o d m. O p f a t t e a, b a, w f i w, e o v. T o w e e m n t w c t o w d n, a t o w d n e e m n j t o w d, f G h a t. W a y t j s e s? T t o m, s s o f. A t w s, f t L i a t m t s.”

E45 – Two Rotten Plumbers

What can I compare making disciples to? Making disciples is like two rotten plumbers…

E44 – Seeking Political Solutions to Spiritual Problems

Last week was the State of the Union address, with all of the political wrangling and turmoil around it. That is pretty normal. However, I want to respond to a troubling trend I am seeing in our American churches right now.  The problem is we are seeking political solutions to spiritual problems. You can’t legislate change in people’s hearts.  Only Jesus can change a heart.

E42 – The Redemption of Tac Buchanan

Tac has a story, a brutally crazy story.  God has a story, too.  It’s a story of redemption.

After you hear his story, I encourage you to check out and prayerfully consider if this is something you should be involved with in some form or fashion.

Disciple Making Movement (DMM) Defined

Here is a quote I wanted to share with you from a couple of articles on

Disciple Making Movements Defined

A disciple making movement exists when churches* plant churches

  • through gospel activity
  • that has abundant fruit among the lost,
  • that multiplies these disciples (people growing in obedience to all of Jesus’ commands)
  • who in turn replicate themselves in others, so that we can see at least four generations regularly produced
  • in multiple streams of disciple-making activity
  • and these streams multiply consistently into churches.

* defines a church as – A spiritual family growing in surrendered obedience to all the teachings of Jesus Christ who gather together regularly under Biblically recognized leadership for the purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission (making disciples) with a Great Commandment heart (loving God, loving people).

The Jesus Storybook Bible

Deut 6:4-9Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
